It was resolved by upgrading to Mac OS 10.9.2, MC 6.5.4.2 and Interplay bits 2.7.5. **There was one case where downgrading Java to 1.6.0_29 did not work (for a Mac OS 10.7 system, that had 1.6.0_65).
